Farmers of Ezbet el-Islah in Samadoun carry out their

  protestin a demonstration against the Land Reform Authority’s delay in delivering title-deeds for their land.

  .On the 3rd June 2008, farmers of Ezbet el-Islah in Samadoun , Manoufia, carried out  their protest which they announced the beginning of last week, before the headquarters of the Agricultural Land Reform Cooperative  located in the village itself, protesting against the repeated delay of the Central Agricultural Land Reform Authority in delivering the title deeds to land distributed to them in the 1950s , land for  which, it should be noted, they  have completed payment

  New developments in Borg Al-Arab   

  In light of the new developments in Borg Al-Arab, Hussein Fadl, one of the land owners said that around a year, a meeting was held between contractor Sobhy Hussein, who is assigned to carryout the project of traffic compound in Borg Al-Arab City, the head of Alexandria Traffic Department, and the head of apparatus of Borg Al-Arab City. The meeting was held to examine the location on which the traffic compound was going to be established.

Egyptian police arrest 1230 peasants 

 Land owners are left alone while peasants are targeted 

On Sunday morning 24 may 2008, without

 previous warning or court notification, police forces of  BEHAIRA  governorate (in the westNile Delta) started an aggression against many villages of ABOLMATAMEER city – including in JANAKLISSE, THE TEN THOUSAND, and ABOLMATAMEER suburbs.  Many thousands of policemen occupied these villages, and in two days arrested about 1230 peasants. These peasants are now being kept at the police station.

Bulldozers break into peasants' land in Borg el-Arab / north west Nile delta

For the second time in three months, the executive body of Borg el-Arab City used bulldozers and tractors to destroy peasants' crops of maize and wheat for the purpose of paving a new road.

Although residents of Borg el-Arab area were taken aback by the event, they resisted the force, which has to retreat after an hour of the beginning of the campaign. Yet a part of peasants' crops was destroyed.
